Luxury condo plans add construction jobs in Honolulu

A high-end Honolulu condominium development likely will create more than 300 construction jobs.

Seven towers with nearly 200 luxury units are planned for the Ala Moana Center. The eight-story buildings will include living spaces from a one-bedroom, 850-square-foot unit to 6,000-square-foot, five-bedroom penthouses.

Construction on the towers is expected to start the middle of this year and could be completed in 2016.

The MacNaughton Group and Kobayashi Group, along with investment firm BlackSand Capital and mall owner General Growth Properties Inc. are developing the project.
